Participating businesses are provided with tailored support to help them develop overseas trade. Becoming a successful exporter requires dedicated resources and skills in the practical elements of exporting. The Passport initiative can help in all these areas : - A company diagnostic to assess your company's readiness to export and identify training and support requirements.
- Assistance from an experienced export professional providing you with on-going advice to implement your Passport action plan successfully.
- Access to the full range of UK Trade & Investment services: business opportunities, PR assistance, overseas visit support, Trade Fair support, Market research/programme arranging. All provided at a subsidised cost or free of charge.
- 50% Matched funding (Business Development Credits) to help fund your Passport action plan.
- Subsidised training in the specific skills required for exporting including export documentation, appointing agents and distributors, identifying and researching overseas markets and selling through the internet and trade fairs.
- Financial support to help towards the costs of overseas market visits and exhibitions.
- Industry specific support from the West Midlands clusters such as funded market visits.
- In some instances, additional European funding is available depending on your location - large areas of the West Midlands are eligible.
- Two year's free membership to the Midlands World Trade Forum (MWTF). The MWTF is the region's export forum, offering general international trade advice and networking events. Other advantages include reduced costs for export seminars and the opportunity to learn from other businesses' exporting experiences.
